Lara Taylor is a Midwife with 11 years experience in the NHS, graduating from Birmingham City University in 2012 with a first-class honour’s degree in Midwifery. She has experience in all areas of her profession and has supported and empowered many women during their pregnancy, birth and in the postnatal period.

Lara has facilitated Midwife led birth at Heartlands and Solihull Hospitals and has given Postnatal care and support to Mums and their new babies in the hours and days immediately after birth. She worked as a Community Midwife for University Hospitals Birmingham, before promotion to Specialist Midwife for Teenage pregnancy, working within the Maternity Safeguarding team. She also has experience as a Bereavement Midwife, supporting families suffering loss whilst being part of an award winning team. 

Lara has developed specialist knowledge in Birth Trauma, Safeguarding, Mental Health, Attachment, Baby Brain development and Supporting Families in Pregnancy after loss. She is also a Midwife Trainer, qualified Solihull Approach Parent Education facilitator and Breastfeeding Support Midwife. One of her greatest achievements in her career has been introducing the Baby Box scheme to parents across Solihull and Birmingham and developing an online education programme to run alongside. 

Lara has practised as a Private Midwife since 2021 and offers the following services at MUMS Solihull:

• Routine antenatal appointments and general pregnancy support, advice, and reassurance
• One to One Parent education tailored to your individual needs
• Support following pregnancy loss and in subsequent pregnancies
• General Midwifery advice and 24-hour telephone support to those accessing MUMS antenatal and private delivery packages.
