MUMS has been performing 4D ultrasound scans for nearly two decades. This form of ultrasound has revolutionised the way in which we can all view the developing baby.
When is the best time to view the baby?
The best time to view baby is between 26 and 32 weeks.
If you are having twins we suggest that you attend from 22-26 weeks.
Preparation: Please can you try to drink at least an extra 2 litres of water or fluids in the 24 hours prior to the examination. This can help to improve the fluid level around the baby which will enhance the 4D scan quality.
Handheld hospital notes: Please bring these with you on the day so that we can plot baby’s estimated weight on your customised growth chart.
Appointment length: Your appointment is booked for 30 minutes, if the baby is in a position where is it difficult to obtain images we will send you for a walk and then rescan you. If we are still unable to obtain images, we will arrange a repeat appointment for you free of charge.
If you decide to book online it is advisable to book between 24 and 28 weeks. We advise this as if the baby is in a difficult position and a re-scan is necessary – there is still time to obtain great views – as after 30 weeks – this starts to become more difficult. If you are unsure then call one of MUMS experts on 0121 704 2669.
