Ovarian Ultrasound Scan Only £210

MUMS Consultant Gynaecologists and Senior Sonographers/Radiographers offer ovarian ultrasound scan.

Ultrasound Scans are pain free and risk-free procedures where detailed images of your ovaries are inspected using our state-of-the-art scanning equipment.

You do not need a referral from your GP and there are no waiting times. Booking is easy and our prices are affordable. Our staff are experts and offer un-rushed imaging to scan you, analyse the images, and provide a comprehensive detailed report at the end of your appointment.

Abnormal findings will be explained to you during and at the end of the scan. The appointment takes around 30 minutes to ensure the presence of abnormalities have been checked properly using ultrasound.

Ovarian ultrasound is usually both performed transabdominally and transvaginally. Our consultant gynaecologists are both female. Our Sonographers are male and female.

You may choose to have a combined scan and consultation with our Consultant Gynaecologists which costs £400.00 in which to have an ovarian scan, or you may choose to have a stand-alone ovarian scan with one of our highly skilled sonographers which costs £210.00.

This ovarian scan assesses the size and shape of both ovaries. This scan is used to detect ovarian pathology such as cysts and cancer. You will have a transabdominal scan with a full bladder first where a probe is placed over your lower tummy and then an internal scan (transvaginal) where the probe is placed in your vagina to have a closer look at the ovaries.  MUMS experts will scan the lower part of your tummy, referred to as pelvis and/or vaginal to check your ovaries for cancer. Your ovaries will be checked to see that they are the right size, the texture looks normal and check for any cysts that might be in your ovaries. They will also be able to detect whether the ovarian cysts are solid or not as this could indicate the presence of cancer.

Ovarian cancer may not present any symptoms to begin with but some of the symptoms include – bloated abdomen, a feeling of fullness fairly quickly when eating, unexplained weight loss, pain in the pelvis, tiredness, back pain, constipation, feeling the need to urinate frequently – if you have any of these symptoms, and especially if you have a family history of ovarian cancer, it is wise to consult with a gynaecologist or have an ovarian scan and the appropriate blood tests.

MUMS Consultant Gynaecologists offer ovarian scans at MUMS – Miss Poonam Pradhan and Mrs Natalie Woodhead. If you prefer a full consultation and scan for the diagnosis and treatment of ovarian related disorders, click here.

You may have symptoms that are associated with ovarian cancer. You may have bloating or may have pain. An ultrasound scan of the ovaries, often in conjunction with CA125 or ROMA blood test for additional reassurance is a diagnostic to detect cancer in the ovaries.

An ovarian scan costs £210
